CEO & Co Founder
As the driving force behind Morpheus, Matt’s focus has been on setting up and growing the business from the ground up. Having spent much of his career working across the intersections between finance, technology, and strategy, he brings a fresh approach to the specialist lending sector. A strong advocate of innovation and disruption, Morpheus was founded with these core principles at its heart.
Lee Jones
CFO & Co Founder
Co-founder at Sedulo, a leading North-West accountancy and financial services practice, Lee has been in the industry for over 25 years. As a qualified accountant of two decades, he now invests and advises entrepreneurs and businesses across a wide range of sectors and is passionate about simplifying finance and structuring businesses for growth.
Richard Lawton
Operations Director
Having over 25 years' experience in the mortgage space across residential, commercial and bridging, Richard is a key member of the launch team. Most recently leading the bridging departments at Precise and One Savings Bank, Richard brings a wealth of operational experience to the team. His role is to ensure Morpheus lend safely and efficiently and he prides himself on a human approach to decision making.
Ash Richardson
Head of Sales
Ash has been in the finance sector for over 15 years, having held senior roles at NatWest / RBS Group and Lombard Asset Finance, alongside several firms in the broker space. A founder himself, he will bring invaluable experience to Morpheus – especially as we build lasting relationships across the industry.

Non Executive Director
An experienced and executive leader, Steve has spent time in both the public and private sector. Most recently having been Chief Risk Officer at Together, Steve has also spent 6 years as Head of Risk at the Bank of England, as well as senior roles at The Royal Bank of Canada, Standard Bank and ABN Amro. A banking and risk veteran who brings his 35 years of knowledge to Morpheus as we scale.
Roland Emmans
Board Advisor
As a Board Advisor, Roland supports Morpheus across the exciting intersection of technology and finance. A seasoned executive in the finance space, he currently leads HSBC’s £6bn technology banking book in the UK and before that was in leadership roles at RBS and investment bank AIB. A board member in the sector, Roland brings his unique experience in the technology and banking sector to ensure Morpheus fulfils its potential.
Mark Cunningham
Board Advisor
Experienced and multi-time founder, Mark has been through the trials and tribulations of entrepreneurship for almost 20 years. Now at the helm of the market leading property data and analytics firm WhenFresh (part of the PriceHubble Group), he supports some of the largest mortgage and banking firms in the UK. A keen eye for detail, Mark’s own journey will be a huge benefit as Morpheus grows over the coming years.
Tom Pirrie
Non Executive Director
Tom is a veteran of the technology space, having led technology and transformation teams globally for numerous financial institutions. Held executive roles at firms such as HSBC, First Direct, JP Morgan and Old Mutual, he supports our technology-first strategy whilst also ensuring we constantly push the boundaries of innovation at scale.
